Celebrating Everyday

(Public Open Space, Sustainable Urbanism, Community Design)

Celebrating Everyday explores the possibilities of a community centre, Hardy-Gallagher Linear Reserve in Princes Hill of Victoria, by responding to the six leaves of sustainability. The Everyday Garden and Checkerboard Plaza focus on community participation: they are places for public gatherings to care and share: gardening, nature classes, playing, farmer market, and more. The design proposes vibrant formal qualities and flexible multifunctionality that welcome all and celebrate everyday activities.
